A great team

Since its first edition in 2005, more  than 600 volunteers have applied each year to help organize the Geneva Marathon, some on the Sunday of the race only, others during the three days preceding the event and still others during the six months of preparation prior to the race.
Once again, on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 May 2010, the success of the Geneva Marathon will depend on your participation and your personal contribution. Thank you for your enlistment.

Volunteer spirit

Here are in a few words what the volunteer spirit consists of:

As in a professional activity, volunteering mainly implies a sense of responsibility. It also requires enthusiasm, flexibility and attention, and may sometimes strain your patience.

Your tasks will mainly consist in supervising, assisting and ensuring the security of the runners, the other volunteers and the spectators. Do not leave your post without beforehand informing an organizer.

Trained personnel will supervise you. Follow their instructions and conduct recommendations. In case of uncertainty, use your common sense.

The volunteers represent the image of the Geneva Marathon. Remember that this sportive event is also a joyous event, a moment of sharing. So, if possible, keep smiling!

The marathon is a trying event. On every level, it is a feat, which requires courage and perseverance to accomplish. Do not forget to encourage and support the runners.
